    Hi,

Pickering ? Gosh, I'm getting old....

Used to toy with their carts when I was still living at my parents' place. Not just Pickering though, Shure, Stanton, Empire etc.

8004 is a keeper for now for sure.

    Cheers,
Identical to these. Just had to get a standard-to-mini plug adapter for them.

    Hi,

They still look great, f14tomcat. Do you happen to know their Zin (Input Impedance) ?

My all time favourite is the ELS Stax Lambda Pro. Even designed a mini OTL for them many decades ago.
Maybe we should start a thread: "What cans are you using?".....

    Enjoy the music,

Apologies for jumping into a conversation...I have a quick question.

I have been having issues with my Realtek audio for at least two weeks. I have done all the suggested options from MS. Last night I was reading through a few threads, then found myself researching, and landed on a possible fix, for my system at least(?). Dell states I need to update my BIOS. The only fix (that I can see) for the current version is for wifi issues. However, based on what I have read, the update may fix the audio issue I have currently.

    What do you think??
    Thank you for your help!

Updating to the most current bios won't do any harm.
Dell often uses proprietary hardware/drivers though so maybe it's best to stick with those.
What are the issues you're experiencing anyway ?

    Cheers,

    Hi,

    Microsoft Update Catalog 6.0.1.8010
Again already ? The folk at Realtek sure are hyperactive.

Someone please let me know if it's worth updating? Thanks.
That plus the version with a setup routine. Much less fuss that way.

Been listening for an hour or so and there's not much of a difference between 8004 and 8010. To me the bass seems a little more defined and instruments sound sightly more seperated from each other.
So nothing to make me say they're a big improvement but still worth trying.

Not as hyperactive as they were when we could access the ftp though. Three releases a week wasn't unusual then.

In some ways fdegrove I prefer installing from a cab file as the previous driver gets put into windows driver store so you can roll back to it if you don't like the new build.
