Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [archive]

Hello there,
I'd like to ask about latest version of Realtek, when i try to update it says this:


So my question is:
Do i have the latest version of realtek or i have to update manually, becasue as far as you see it doesn't work automatically.
If it isn't not latest version and it's older, is it necessary to update or i can keep using to older one?

Okey i was just wondering why it doesn't offer me the latest one.
And ye, why to change that's right, i'll keep the older one, it's working perfectly.

If you mean Windows Update, that hardly ever offers the very latest version of drivers (but depends a lot on the company, I guess). The Catalog gets the latest versions all the time, since that outlet is used differently (meant for devs and sys admins, etc.).

I'm using Windows 10 64-bit Version 1607 and it got an automatic cumulative update yesterday KB3200970. The board is Maximus VII Formula with an i7 4790K and 16Gb RAM and a GTX 1080.

Following the update, I am having significant issues with my audio drivers. I still have sound in audio and video files, however, I no longer hear usual windows sounds like plugging in or removing a device or when increasing or decreasing volume using the volume button in the taskbar. Some audio in games is not played either.

I uninstalled the drivers and all audio returned to normal with the default windows drivers. I tried to reinstall the latest drivers available on the ASUS support site (Realtek Audio Audio:GM:V6.0.1.7829_GM_StudioSound_SonicSuite_2.2 .25_SonicRadar_2.1.3301.0 ) because I use Sonic Studio quite a bit and the audio issues came back.

I also tried to get the latest drivers available from Realtek's site and from here Windows 10 Forums

If I use the windows default drivers, everything works fine, but obviously I cannot use any enhanced features like room correction with those. If I separate front and rear panels in options and use headphones, everything works for the headphones then, but same issues remain for the 5.1 surround system.

And as soon as I install any of the actual drivers, everything breaks.

I have also tried doing a complete uninstall of the drivers and removing any trace of them using Revo Uninstaller Pro to no avail.

Really need some help on this! Any info regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

There are SIX downloads for 7977 listed on the Microsoft Update Catalog site - 4 of them are 64bit (2 of them are listed as 136.6Mb in size, the other 2 are listed as 100.1Mb in size; the latter two is for Realtek audio devices with ASUSTek Computer Inc. as the Company name instead of Realtek). And the remaining two downloads are 32bit which are 102.7Mb in size.

Only my bro's Sony laptop has Dolby support - albeit Dolby Home Theater V3, which actually does LITTLE to improve sound. I can force usage of Dolby V4 or Dolby Digital Plus (V5) on there with some reg hacks I came up with but the realtek audio driver MUST be installed only thru the HDXRT.inf file.

Since I already had v7950 installed on all machines that have onboard realtek audio, I'll wait for build 8000 or higher to come out later this year and then update to that version.

Hey everyone.

I've had awful audio quality since updating to Windows 10 Anniversary so I started to research it.

Current Realtek driver is dated 6/24/15 and when I try to upgrade it I get a dialog that it's using the latest version. This is not the case though.

So I found this thread and downloaded Version 7968 but I don't know how to install the driver haha. It's in .rar form, can someone tell me how to tell device manager to use this driver?
