I'll provide the correct troubleshooting steps for you, but I don't have the time to explain HOW to do them. Sorry.
Troubleshooting Steps in this order:
1. Make sure speakers are plugged into the correct audio port on your pc (usually green). Try both front and back ports, if you have them.
2. Make sure speakers are powered on and turned up.
3. Test speakers on another computer to make sure they work
4. Make sure you have the correct Playback device selected in Windows and the volume is up. Make sure your check disabled devices and enable them if necessary (right click in Sound, Playback and select show disabled devices).
5. Check Device manager and make sure audio device is showing operational and not disabled or offline
6. Run the Microsoft Fix-It Utility called "
Find and fix problems playing sounds" here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2970908
7. Uninstall the audio device drivers and reinstall them, here are steps for that:
Click on Start and type Device Manager and click on Device Manager. Go to "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" and expand it. In device manager, Right Click on your High Definition Audio Device and select "Uninstall" and be sure to select "delete the driver software for this device." Reboot. After reboot, Windows 10 will reinstall drivers for you. If the drivers don't reinstall, you can use the AMD drivers mentioned in a previous post.
IF the above steps were properly followed and you still have issues, the most likely cause is a defective audio circuit on your motherboard. The second most likely cause is a windows misconfiguration. A competent tech can troubleshoot your problem by either remoting into your computer or coming to your home. Good Luck.
If you can't resolve your issue, there are external "USB sound Adapters" on Amazon for under $10 that work well and sound pretty good assuming you're not an audiophile.
