Windows 10: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [archive]

  1.    01 Nov 2016 #1371

I spoke to a tech guy who has contacts with Realtek. At this point he doesn't know the status of their FTP server.
But, he did email me with their latest update (sent as a zip file). I decided to upload it & share it here.

    *UPDATE*
Realtek HD Audio build 7962 WHQL

    Package version PG452

Thanks asturias7. The rate of these updates is ridiculous. I can only assume the changes are minor compatibility changes for MB OEMs.

Build 7962 was originally released to ASUS a few days after build 7960 was released.

@Brink although adding install cab to the context menu works fine for a lot of .cab files it has never worked for me when trying to install the Realtek HD drivers. I just end up with the error message below.

Name:	cab.png

Try shortening the path by renaming the cab file to: Realtek.cab

You can also use this method which always works:

Extract the cab file to a folder. In device manager, under Sound, Video and Game Controls, Right Click on Realtek High Definition Audio, Select Update Driver Software and Browse to the extracted cab folder. The driver will install.

I get the same result if I shorten the name of the .cab file.

    Hi,

I'm not surprised by that that's why I suggested expand.exe to extract the files.
There is a setup.exe inside the cab file too..

    Cheers,
