    UPDATE

Soundwise this driver is up there with the best I've heard from Realtek. Five stars.

I'm new here and I would like to thank you guys for constantly offering us links to these drivers.

I have a question: What is difference between the driver from the realtek ftp and the one from the windows update catalog? (I noticed a big difference in size)

    Hi and welcome radeon7750.

To answer your question, the downloads from Realtek contain both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions. The drivers on the Microsoft Update Catalog normally have one download for 32-bit and another for 64-bit. Recently Microsoft have also been splitting it even further by having seperate downloads for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Anniversary edition.
    Hope this makes sense :)

So I'm too scared to install new drivers I'm still reeling from my last experience, had to hard reset the laptop yet my sound still only works through headphones, thankfully it fixed my microphone again though.

Seems I'm running the latest drivers but sounds try to work and I'll hear some thing but it stutters?

I've had Realtek HD 782x drivers installed on my ASUS GS60 laptop with an ALC892. I've installed these 7926 on a fresh Windows installation today and need to confirm that they're noticeably better. Middle is purifier, deep bass goes something lower and scene is a quite wider on my setup.

Tested these all day today and in addition to what I've written before, the sound is crispier but with no bass lack and also louder. Used to listen music at 18% volume at night before and now it's 10-12%.

I had some very old version of Realtek HD Audio Driver on my Asus laptop (see in profile) and I had MaxxAudio with it, which is very useful for my 4-speaker + external subwoofer setup. My Windows started having BSOD's due to some bad driver, and also Realtek Equalizer was losing setup for the highest band so I decided to update all the drivers.

I downloaded the latest driver (7926) from here and installed it. Everything was fine until I noticed that MaxxAudio is gone, it's no longer there. So I was looking here for help and I found this post:

You'll find the MaxAudio Installer at the following location: ftp://ftp3.realtek.com.tw/Dell/05.05.2016 - MaxxAudio Installer 2.7.8352.1.zip
    The usual login details
The generic drivers never carry any additional features like Dolby or other enhancements

    Cheers
    Tom
I downloaded MaxxAudio, but when I try to install it, I'm getting this: https://i.imgur.com/0uQMjDj.png

How to get MaxxAudio back on the newest driver? Until I found a solution, I will rollback to some older driver which comes with included MaxxAudio.

    Thank you in advance,
    Randy
