I'm starting to think this is a HDCP issue that came with the new Windows build. I've tried everything, and its so weird that the sound either drops out randomly every 3-10 sec. Or its completly gone.

Edit: Not so sure about HDCP issue anymore, since NVIDIA gives me the same messange in 1703, and the AV reciever works perfectly on this build.

This must be one of the strangest problems I've ever encountered.

once everything else has failed, a clean install most probably will solve it. Or do a repair by inplace upgrade, if you want to keep your programs and data.

I'm sure that if I do that, I'll encounter the same problem, and then I wont be able to do a rollback.

I updated my macbook pro retina to 1709 just to see if it had the same problem, and it did not. I can see on my samsung AV-reciever that it has sound signal and everything works. So I updated my desktop again, and I have some more details. Right after the update, I have sound for maybe a minute without it cutting off. After that it starts randomly cutting off, and I can see on my AV-reciver that the audio signal goes on and off. Eventually it just wont detect audio at all, even after reboots and disconnecting/reconnecting the hdmi cable. There must be something interfearing with it, and I've even disabled the other sound card. I feel like I've tried everything besides formating, but I really want to figure this out without doing that.
