Repairing (replacing) the jack, if it is bad, can be a major task. Most circuit boards are multi layered and special desoldering/soldering equipment is needed so the circuit board traces are not destroyed, plus getting an exact replacement jack can be a problem. However, on many laptops the I/O jacks are on a separate "daughter" board and if jacks are bad replacing that small daughter board is the way to go.

I have an "SMT" (Surface Mount Technology) workstation for desoldering and soldering but still would be leery trying to replace a jack such as the headphone jack.

I do not know what the problem is with the no sound from my headphones. I do know the first time that I installed a new driver, i lost all sound from my headphones, before the sound was playing in the headphones and through the speakers. I am just trying to get to the bottom of the problem.

I wouldn't suspect a bad jack in this case.

I hope that someone can help me. I have no sound from my headphones. I bought an expensive bluetooth earbud product and I do not know how to check to see if this computer supports bluetooth. I would prefer to just use my earbuds with headphone jacks.

^ If you confirm that there's no driver issue with your sound card, and the jack still does not work, there's always a USB sound card to get your headphone jack back

Here's something you maybe to force Realteh HD Audio Manager to appear im Control panel so you can try some other adjustments and potentially have headphone option.

I would like to use my earbuds that I have used for the past 2 years. Why there is no sound coming from them, I have no clue. So I have the bright idea to buy bluetooth earbuds. I bought a BT dongle. Now what? The dongle is plugged in, I powered on my headphones but nothing happens. I did not know that I was such a newbie. Very frustrating.
