That sound to me like a beep to confirm the POST was OK - apparently it's a 'good sign'....

@Bree, but it used to never do that when I would start it up when I had the previous Windows 10 versions installed. Now, that the Fall update is installed, that's when it started doing it. So, you think it's okay?

Well, from the post I found it seems to be normal behaviour, so the question is why haven't you heard it before?

There may be a 'silent boot' option in the bios (you'll have to look, I don't have one to test). Another possibility is that you had Fast Startup turned on in Windows 10 before and it's turned off now. My system certainly skips parts of the bios sequence if I have it turned on, my 'F12 to choose boot source' is only available if I turn off Fast Startup.

I would like for it to be turned off. Let me check to see if it has that feature for quiet boot. Fast Startup should be turned on now. I think I turned it back on yesterday.

It just acts as if it’s not fully shutting down. It goes to sleep, and next thing I know it’s back awake again when I come to check on it. It’s almost like it knows I am coming to check on it. Strange, I know.

Quiet Boot is on and so is Fast Startup.

Is this thread solved, or are we still troubleshooting the computer?

If anyone is not happy with the added screens of "Shutting Down" and "Please Wait" upon powering down and powering up, please follow the link that I have listed for them to bring the old experience back.
