Windows 10 1703 Build 15063.674 Missing DVD and Bluray Burners

This computer when it wakes up from sleeping it takes about a minute to wake up. Every time after it wakes up the drives are missing at random. If I do a hardware scan from the device manager the drives return. Any help here on a solution.
I've tried all the available hacks and nothing seems to solve the issue.

Hi Harley51. Welcome to the TenForums @Harley51

Please fill in System Specs, include Windows 10 version and build number at

System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums

Before trying diagnostic procedures I always recommend that you create a backup of your data off machine, create an Image with a tool like Macrium Reflect and have bootable media that matches your current Windows environment.

Are your restore points enabled? You may wish to invoke system restore.

Before doing that check Windows Update history, say the last seven days and see if any drivers were delivered.

When you say sleep is there any chance this issue is concurring when you awake from hibernation?

If after sleep, when a drive doesn't show, is there an actual DVD in the drive or does the drive show if you load a DVD?

Just checked my 1709, and my DVD doesn't show. As soon as I place a disk in the drive it shows in File Explorer.

It's not the case here. The only way to get them back is thru a hardware scan in device manager.

I'd report it through feedback hub.

Check to see if there are any power mgmt tabs on the drivers in device manager.

You might also try an inplace repair / upgrade. As you are on 1709 it will act more as an in place repair.

I always back up my data off machine.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
