Good Driver and Settings for Atheros [Q'comm] AR5B93 ?

friends I am rehab'ing an old Gateway NV52 and keep getting dropped connections on WIFI. Anyone have a known Good driver later than 2009 ? and the Settings seem very limited for this one - I am using a very recent router and wondering if I should ENable the adhoc 'N' switch? it defaults to Disable.

    thanks for any tips

    Hi cognos.

Head to manufacturers site and use their driver. (maybe try stuff below first)

Also check adapter properties, power mgmt, and remove check mark "Allow computer to shut off device to save power".

Head to advance Power management options and set wireless power to maximum.

Sometimes a different channel on router will cure. Do you have a tool to see networks in your area and channel being used. You can use

    Netsh wlan show all

to see what you card is seeing.
