intel trusted execution engine interface has a driver problem

Windows Defender Security Centre/Device performance & health has a yellow warning against Device driver - One or more device drivers may not be working properly. Run the ... troubleshooter etc.

The troubleshooter then says "Reinstall device driver. There is a problem with the driver for Intel(R) Trusted Execution Engine Interface. Reinstalling the drive might fix this problem."

There are 2 options, Apply this fix, and Skip this fix. Continue troubleshooting without applying this fix. I tried both.

The first option says Not fixed. The second one says the same.

I have Googled for the problem. All those I found seem to mention an error code. None is given in this case.

    What to do?

Search your laptop/desktop manufacturer's downloads/support page for an updated setup , the setup should take care of reinstalling/upgrading bits and might be more compatible with your version of windows .

    Thank you nIGHTmAYOR,

It's an HP 110-412na desktop which came with Windows 8.1 installed.

I don't understand what you mean by "setup".

I can't see anything on their website, other than driver downloads, which looks as if it might help.

I've also looked on Intel's website but can't see anything which helps there either.

Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface (Intel TXE) is considered a device driver for windows compute cards , it's driver setup is available for download on either Intel's site example : Here or your manufacturer's website's driver download page . Only notice that there are many versions of that driver that are based on hardware id which might be different from device to another so better to download your specific one from manufacturer's website than shooting at the dark with Intel's .

I couldn't find anything useful on either HP's or Intel's sites.

I have uninstalled the item via Device Manager, and that's stopped the system telling me there's a problem.

Whether or not it will have an adverse effect remains to be seen.
