Just started my pc and the mouse doesn't work anymore...
This morning the mouse didn't work and I had to restart my pc. It was recognized and connect and USB sniffer shows data, but windows doesn't move the mouse pointer. The internal touchpad works.
If this is a Wireless mouse have you tried shutting off Mouse, counting to five and turning back on.
Clearly not a fix but a work around.
Can I ask what kind of computer do you have. Does it have any additional software that could be managing power savings?

It is not the mouse but Windows. I have a wired mouse and that one also stops working.
It's ThinkPad X1 Carbon. I don't think it's power management issue as I can see in the USB sniffer that the data comes in but windows doesn't process it. It all started with the Logitech mouse that spammed my device manager.
Okay but can you shut off mouse when it stops working, then turn on and see if Windows says okay I'll use you.

I tried that before, but I can try again when it happens again. I also connected other mice when it happened but none worked. I think Logitech somehow messed up the mouse driver stack of my windows.
Well then you may have to try the inplace repair / upgrade process and if that doesn't work the dreaded "Clean Install".

Before trying diagnostic procedures I always recommend that you create a backup of your data off machine, create an Image with a tool like Macrium Reflect and have bootable media that matches your current Windows environment.

The receiver for the mouse was on an USB hub that I remove when I take the notebook to work. I now connected the receiver to a fixed USB port and since then the mouse works.
It is still a Windows issue but I'm happy to get around it like that.
