Not to worry. She must've name it that in the BIOS. Here is a non-intrusive utility called Belarc Advisor that will tell you everything about your PC. Download it and run it. Report back what you find.
Products: Belarc Advisor
Another thing that I should mention, the only reason I have not mentioned because it may actually have nothing to do with this but at the same time this maybe its origin. This problem has been happening for a while but only now am I doing something about it. But like a month ago, something really weird happened to my computer that I eventually fixed. In general, every web page on google chrome had a "Aw, Snap" error on it and Adblock kept crashing, so I couldn't do anything. There was an error message that said that OneDrive was not compatible with Windows 10 (even though it's made by Microsoft; technology is confusing). And last but not least, Microsoft Edge completely disappeared. All of this at the same time :) Very frustrating. Maybe this problem originated from this but I just never realized, or maybe it's completely off topic. Maybe this helps?
Helps a little. Quite honestly you're preaching to the choir here. I'm what they call an MS purist. aka Fan boy. I don't use but very few 3rd party anything just for the reasons you just gave. I watch users here that know more than me fix their systems or apps all the time. I'm not going to say I don't have problems from time to time, for Windows isn't a perfect system. I can say I hardly have any problems.
The only reason I recommended Belarc Advisor is because you don't know what you have. At the right of the page generated you should see your motherboard (MoBo) model.
Just to clarify my computer rarely has problems too, like sometimes minor things. I was just fine for about 2 years but this stood out because it was a little abnormal lol.
For my main circuit board ( I assume is the same thing as the mother board ) it has this stuff listed:
Board: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. MAXIMUS VI HERO Rev 1.xx
Serial Number: 1666225243455300704
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
UEFI: American Megatrends Inc. 1301 12/20/2013
Do you need info for my drives?
Ya never know these days.
Is this what you have comparing it to the Advisor page? Not sure about the Rev 1.xxx. Might be the first generation of the board? Not that it matters all that much.
