    Strange Mouse Problem


    I've solved this problem but thought I would post in case anyone has similar issue.

    I had a problem with my desktop PC where menus didn't respond to mouse commands and the PC didn't respond to the keyboard arrow keys after pressing Ctrl / Alt / Delete. I changed the mouse batteries to no avail then noticed the mouse LED was always on. All is fine now I've swapped to a wired mouse. The offending mouse is an old Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse Model 1026.

    I noticed an unspecified hardware error in Reliability History and have since figured out that the left mouse button microswitch is bust. It's time for a new wireless mouse!

    If you were in China, I could direct you to a small place in the town I was in where I had someone replace the microswitch- they had one lying amongst the random pile of bits on their bench. Cost- trivial. 10 years later I'm still using it.

    But hey, they even had a man come round once a year repairing umbrellas...

I got the Anniversary Update a month or two back. And ever since I have this problem on desktop icons. The mouse hover selection is shifted away from cursor, in a way that the next icon is selected, not the one under cursor....
Has anybody seen this? Recently updated to w10, and the nvidia drivers gave a distorted mouse cursor, a known issue, and today it looks like this. Did a few restarts and updated the drivers to no avail. I have the dell alienware x51 r2, 760ti oem...
