Did you try turning it off by holding down the power button for several seconds while it was running?
If you let Windows shut itself down, it will hibernate (well, it's a form of hibernation) which might be causing the problem.

Not exactly sure which BIOS make is being used. If AMI then one beep is memory refresh error from what I saw in one article. Other members can correct me.
Saw you had 8GB. I would suggest you remove all and install just one stick.
Then to bios, unplug mains, Remove CMOS battery, hold power on switch for 30 secs. Disconnect harddrive(s). Re-install CMOS battery and boot. Goal is to enter BIOS. Unless you know the key I would try del, esc, F2, F10. (then all the other f'ing keys).
