is there a software-solution to use 2 headsets at the same time ?

    Hello,

there was plenty of time where i wanted to watch a movie or a play a game with a friend or gf late at night and we had to use the headset, but we just couldn't cause windows doesn't support that (or its very well hidden).

I have plenty of USB headsets, some of them can be used on wireless mode too or connected via the 3.5mm jack (the ps4 gold headset).

But everytime we just had to play or watch using the speaker with a VERY LOW volume, which really sucks.

Am aware of the multi-headphone 3.5mm jack splitter, i am just wondering why this feature which honestly looks pretty basics, is not possible on windows ? the ps4 support up to 4 headsets, how can a x10 thousands time more complex and advanced OS couldn't ?

    thank you

There are USB devices that have a built in amp and allow for multiple headsets. Pick your poison. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...dphone+adapter There are also DAC's with the built in amp. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...one+amplifieer

It's not software but I have used, and still have one, a Y-splitter for the stereo headsets. One can sometimes see one in use around schools with a pair of teenagers listening with their earbuds with only one MP3 player.

You answered your own question really. XBOX has hardware designed for multiple headsets. PCs do not.

This issue has nothing to do with Windows really. No software can compensate for hardware deficiencies.

A y splitter is only pennies.

If your computer has Realtec sound chip this may help. It may not look same but should be in the options anyway.

Try this Donation Ware Mixer app:

    Voicemeeter Virtual Audio Mixer

I just tested this one out, really nice mixer and could play to 3 output devices at the same time on my ancient laptop.
