Behold, a miracle. I tried again to burn an ISO and it worked! So I conclude there was something wrong with a driver and it updated. It's not the speediest process but hey.
    Good news.

Only took what, three days to get it to work !

Now, try to burn a simple data disk or a music CD
just to make sure all works well

The software I use is :Free Burning Software and DVD Copying Software - BurnAware

Have been using this for years and it works well and is free.

    Flashorn.

Speed is always great but not necessarily with burning discs. I find dropping the burn rate to 4, 6 or 8 makes more reliable discs and usable on more devices than does the faster/fastest speeds such as 16, 24, or faster.

Yes, I did try to boot to the new ISO. Whereupon, another problem. I cannot boot to DVD or USB. I already posted about not booting from USB Will Win 10 pc boot from usb? - Windows 10 Forums but I'll open a new topic "Cannot boot from USB or DVD and cannot access UEFI." Briefly, no key combinations at bootup will bring up UEFI or options to boot from media. I will mark this topic as solved.
