I've never used sleep on any computer, because it seems to rarely work properly. With the inventation and adoption of SSDs, there's little reason not to shut down a desktop or laptop when not in use.

used to use sleep all the time here, old PC, and newer 8 Core Desktop PC, i'd sleep it from time I went to bed, til I woke up, after I got the SSD, started shutting down nightly for first time in 7 years. So far no problems with hardware that I noticed

I watch a youtuber whose been in the business 25 years and he frequently states that hibernation is not really for desktops. I still stand by my statement that its better to turn the machine off when not in use.
Hibernation is not good for anything it will use 75% of whatever amount of memory you have. I use plain sleep as my Electric bill is high enough and I leave my PC several times a day. Turning it off and on 4 or 5 times a day can't be good for it.
