Windows 10 Creator's Update Kills Bluetooth Hardware

I have an Acer Aspire Timeline X 3830t laptop. Until today, I was running Windows 10 with no issues, happy as a clam. After a slew of updates happened, including the Creator's update, my Bluetooth disappeared. I mean it really disappeared, it's no longer found in Device Manager, and when I look at Hidden Devices, I find the BlueTooth Generic Adapter with this error.

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

HUH? I didn't change anything, I didn't turn off any switches, all I did was allow Windows to do the updates! Scanning for updates, resetting the BIOS to defaults, rebooting multiple times, etc. doesn't bring it back. I'm at a loss what happened!

It hasn't killed any of my Bluetooth mice on Notebooks [3] and Tablets [3], just have to set them up again and Pair them again if there's no issues with Bluetooth in Device Manager.

I think you need to read it again. The BT doesn't even show up in Device Manager, so there's no pairing until that's resolved. It's like the hardware disappeared when I did the last updates!

If hardware doesn't show in Device Manager there's usually one of two problems, the hardware has failed or compatible drivers have to be installed.

So, you're implying that the Windows update installed incompatible drivers? I was using the BT mouse before the update, after the reboot, the hardware was totally missing.

Even without drivers, the unknown hardware usually shows up in Device Manager, however, I see nothing now.

There is one curious item. I saw a boatload of updates load when I fired up the update on 8/3/17, but when I look at the update history, there's only one under Other Updates, it's the Creator's Update 1703. I don't know where all the others hid. I'm trying another update run now, though I did that several times before and didn't get any.

It just found a FLASH KB4025376 update and an update to 1703, KB4022405. Running it again gets no new updates. Rebooted and checked for updates, no new updates. Still no sign of the BT hardware in device manager, even looking at hidden devices. It's like it vanished in the wind.

Another curiosity, I tried a USB BT adapter and successfully loaded the drivers. It even connects to my Dell BT mouse. However, no response from the mouse. Taking it to another computer with the same USB BT adapter, and the mouse and adapter work fine with Windows 10. I think the laptop suddenly decided that BT was a no-no for some odd reason.
