Microsoft mouse and Keyboard center thrills

I've installed (had it for several years) Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard center again today because the mouse suddenly stopped working.
Anyway, the program is installed, mouse works flawlessly but I cannot actually open the program itself. I've tried running it in Administrative mode but no go. I need to do some settings on the mouse but the program simply won't open. When I click on it, the mouse goes busy for a couple seconds but that's it. I've rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled and still no go. What must I do to get this program so it will open?

How long? Is it compatible/supposed to be compatible with Win10 or maybe Win8.1?

Been using it with Windows 10 with no problem. Then today, the mouse ceased to work. The Bluetooth took a long time to find it and then all works well. It's just the program itself will not open so something obviously is stopping it and I have not a clue as to what it is, till you tell me.

Ok people! Thanks for the many responses. I solved the problem by going back to an earlier version of Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Center (version 2.8) and all my griefs just went out the back window. Again, thank you for the many replies. This is an excellent forum.
