Windows 10 Dell Inspiron 24-5459 not recognizing D:\ Drive as Internal

As of a few days ago my internal D:\ (DVD/CD-ROM) drive was not recognizing any discs I put into it. I have 2 external LG Blu-ray portable drives and one of them is now recognized as D:\. How do I fix this so that the Internal DVD/CD-ROM drive is recognized as D:\ again? I have gone into the Device Manager and looked under DVD/CD-ROM Drives and the only ones present are my externals. I have also tried rebooting several times to no avail.
    Please help!

    Steve

If the Device Manager is not recognizing your internal Optical drive, then it is either unplugged or it has failed.
Shut down the computer and remove the side and check the wiring. Make sure the power plug is firmly attached in the back of the drive and the Data cable is plugged in firmly to the back of the drive and to the SATA port on the Motherboard.
Boot into Setup (Bios) on the Main page you should see a list of all of your drives, if the internal optical drive is not showing, then try replacing the SATA Data cable, try a different SATA power plug from the PSU, plug the Data cable into a different SATA port on the motherboard. Also, make sure the port the drive is plugged into is Enabled in the Bios. If all fails, then the drive needs to be replaced.
To Change a drive letter of a device that is showing in the Device Manager, but not in Windows or just to change the drive letter, Press the Windows key+X and choose Disk Management. In the lower pane, Right click the drive in question and choose Change Drive Letter or Paths.
