Surface Book upgrading SSD/menory
Just curious if anybody has a surface book and was able to upgrade the SSD or Memory without too much trouble? MS wants ~$500 for upgraded SSD and Memory

Lots of screws, plus some glue. "Too much trouble" depends on your skill and patience levels.
I'll tell you I have a lot of mechanical skill, tech know-how and patience and I wouldn't attempt tp tear into that thing unless I absolutely had to; it had no warranty; and breaking stuff didn't matter.
That said, between voiding warranties and the complication it takes in disassembling that thing you could end up with a mess that's cheaper to replace than repair.
Anyway I'm sure we'll get the "oh it's easy" guys in here, but that video doesn't lie and actually makes it look easier than it is.
My two cents.
Thanks for the link. I have had my present laptop apart twice and it was no fun. Battery needs changing but it is glued down. However it is out of warranty. Have a very old Toshiba laptop of the XP variety, two covers on the bottom, one for HDD and one for memory. Looks like the choice is to order it with upgrades in place. :-(. Tx
