When I click load driver it says 'to install the device driver for your drive, insert the installation media containing the driver files.
Installation media can be a CD, DVD, or USB'
I see. Your BIOS should recognize your drive via the drive's firmware if it's installed correctly. Do you see it listed in the BIOS?

Windows disk drivers manage the drives. It sees info in the BIOS to take over management as with most peripherals.

I take it that this is a custom rig you put together? Loading an OS for the first time? Or a new drive?

I'll have to reboot to look where it is in mine.

In the meantime, check again that you have all drive leads in the proper place. I'll be back.

I don't think my motherboard came with SATA cables in the first place so I think I'm going to have to purchase them.

    Oh? That sucks.

The drive(s) should be listed in Advanced mode (F7 on mine) > Advanced tab > SATA configuration.

Keep in mind that mine is an older board and the BIOS may not be exactly the same.
