I don't believe the z87 motherboards supported m.2 (your's does not have m.2 connectors) but you can use an adapter card which should have similar results depending on your hardware and motherboard.

No M.2 slot on that motherboard.

I also doubt that the chipset supports NVME. That doesn't mean that the SSD can't work (when combined with a PCI-E slot adapter). The performance loss may not be major.

You can also buy SSDs that go in regular PCI-E slots, but they are more expensive:

TS would not be able to boot off of it though. Not a big deal but it's often a deal breaker.

I bought a 960 Evo, it`s not worth the effort.

Just get a 850 Pro :)

That Z87 board can't boot off a PCI-E drive?

I don't pretend to know.

My #2 system boots of an M.2 drive in a PCI-E slot adapter. It's an X79 board, though.

I'm of the impression it could be done as well. What are we missing? And the Z87 is a newer board than the X79.
