Realtek Audio stops randomly for a second

    Hey TenForums!
I am posting my second thread here because I found your specialists are very good.

So my problem (the other one is fixed:) is this:

I have a Gigabyte GA-H81-D3 Motherboard with 16GB Ram and Realtek ALC887 audio.
The issue is that absolutely random - it can happen once in a day or 10 times in an hour my sound stops for a second. It just plays then mutes itself and after that continues. Thinks I've tried:

    1. Installing all drivers for this card - no help
    2. Disabling all enhancements - no help
    3. Windows 7/8.1 and now 10 - no help
    4. Disabling/enabling front audio jack panel detection (and popup) - no help

This problem occurs in Games, Watching Movies, Youtube, listening to music and basically - in everything.

Even Im considering buying another Sound card to check if the problem will persist.

Any ideas? I didn't find the same thread so I'm posting here.
Again - I'm sorry if I'm in wrong section but I didn't find an Audio subforum.

    Thanks in advance,
    Martin

Have you tried the latest drivers, usually available only on-demand.

This utility is used to test, what might be causing the issue.

Hello! Thanks for the fast reply!

I've checked my system with Latencymon for about 20 mins (Dunno how much is the optimal time).
Even when the app was checking my gf was watching a movie on the TV(HDMI connected) and no audio stops but she told me before I run the program there were such 'delays'

I am attaching a screenshot and a doc stats report from the program.

Also, I've checked my BIOS - is the latest version, drivers also.
And final question - If I disable CPU Throttling is there any problem with overheating, non-downclocking and etc. in games and apps (even though my i5 4460 doesnt reach more than 60-65 degrees)

You can try running Process Lasso - 30 days trial period is plenty to find out, if it helps or not.

Also try installing DirectX Redistributable June 2010 Download (unpack and run DXSETUP.exe)

So I should use the Lasso to monitor my usage I guess?
Should I follow the steps recommended from LatencyMon and try to isolate the problem?

You should try to isolate the problem first, but if there is no viable solution, you can use Lasso. It is used to prioritize processes and it should prevents lags, theoretically.

    Okay, thank you.
I will try these recommended steps one by one and report asap when the problem is (IF IT IS) fixed.

    Hi again.

Currently running and continuing to run LatencyMon. The sound stopped only once for a 2 seconds a minute before the screenshot I'm attaching.

My Control panel settings are set to 100%/100% High performance CPU power.
Disabled in Bios SpeedStep and C1 (or such thing).

There are C3,C4 and etc. - should I disable them too and try again?Realtek Audio stops randomly for a second-dropouts.jpg

An Update: Same old story - sound stopping/dropping out. Here is a screenshot.

I've reinstalled network controller, stopped all CPU Throttling in BIOS/Windows.. No idea what to do next.Realtek Audio stops randomly for a second-capture.jpg

Do you have Wi-Fi? That is a known cause, although not the only one.
