Driver updates

That is all I use on all my PC's. Try other programs that claimed to update drivers for "free" but when you actually try to update them you have to pay or others that push spyware from russia last time causing me to reinstall W10 from scratch.

I prefer Driver Easy, though this one looks nice, but it offers new drivers, which are the same as old one, some even wrong, I had bad experience using suggestions like that, but at least it explains it details.

Driver easy is crippleware. It is one of those that require you to pay to update drivers.

Press the Windows key+X and choose Device Manager. Are there any devices with yellow flags? If so, these devices need drivers. If not, you do not need any drivers. Unless you are having a problem with a particular device. If you want updated drivers, Windows Update provides the most recent drivers from a manufacturer for free.
You do not need any 3rd Party utilities to download drivers, if any drivers are missing.

My older Dell laptop had a unknown device. Nothing found the driver not even Google but Snappy Driver took care of it.

Good luck with that have you ever used the useless websites from Dell and HP they can't even get common searches to work I get no results found.

It is actually the only one I know, which allows to download drivers for free. Besides driver updaters are only needed to find which drivers are missing, then you can easily google them and download anywhere else.

When deciding which drivers to install and/or update, all those programs use Device Id found in Device manager. Googling that device Id can find you any drivers available from many more resources that those "Driver updater/finder" programs.

Yes, but it might also find bad drivers, like that Snappy Driver, desperately trying to find something "better/newer". I have tried to find drivers using hardware ID several times in the past, but it usually crippled at least one of my devices. I guess, that a driver contains hardware IDs for supported devices, but if the device uses multiple drivers and only one is updated from other driver, it might cause a conflict.

That happened to me with several programs, found and downloaded wrong drivers. That's why I gave up on them. They are also not very good at finding drivers for Unknown Device. Paying for drivers is also not acceptable because they are free from manufacturers.
