Thank you for all the support / tips. I really mean it.

I will let you know how my testing goes. I hope to be able to mark this as solved!
on a side note, i wouldnt really attempt to edit/modify the INF unless you are really familiar with what it actually does first.
there is alot of information available on the internet (i posted a link to an article that describes it) that provides insight.
if you want to toy around with an INF file and teach yourself and experiment, i would use a virtual machine for safety.

As far as I am aware the .Inf file merely controls what options are displayed, the hardware controls what functions are potentially available whilst the Driver decides which of the potentially available options are actually available.

There are a set of Standard Windows Generic drivers that are automatically loaded, if there is no Specific Driver loaded and these may have a standard set of options shown, although, again, only those present in the hardware will work

though it is true that sometimes, the options shown may not be an accurate representation of the hardware and/or driver capabilities.
the hardware and/or driver may support a property but that property is omitted from the INF file (for whatever legitimate or illegitimate reason) but can be added by editing the INF file, not necessarily meaning the option will function, it may be effective or not just like adding a custom context menu that shows text but does nothing when clicked.

the OP is talking about the settings shown in the attached screen capture.
id like to elaborate on editing the INF file for specific hardware to enable/disable features/settings but it would require me to write lengthy details and instructions on how its done, its likely easier to use google

My point in the question I posed was to get you to elaborate on what you post for help. That includes assuming the OP isn't familiar with the suggestions posted. Telling someone to edit an INF file, and actually showing them what they're looking for is two different things. Whenever I suggest something like that I leave either instructions or a clear link to what's to be done. I'll also echo Barman58's concerns when making such INF suggestions.

As for "these settings"... I've posted the recording side of that screen shot so "I" assumed that's what you were talking about, but clarity relieves guesswork.

Just something to think about :)

i had clearly answered the OP's question with post #4, since i understood what he was asking, the valid answer is that these options and properties that are displayed, are hardware and driver dependent.
i was simply providing more insight and knowledge about how those options are displayed in the event the OP happens to be curious about it, not instructing or telling the OP to modify or change any INF file.
when someone answers my question but yet goes the "extra step" to provide details, insight and knowledge along with an accepted answer, i really appreciate that much more than a canned scripted answer and a general response.
if its a forum crime to provide insight and knowledge along with help, then sue me
i will say, its something to "think about" when im lashed upon as a "newbie" here for sharing knowledge that i know.

Thanks for the quick response. I did read about an NVIDIA workaround (link), but unfortunately, the PC I have uses an Intel audio driver. I don't have the driver version # in front of me at the moment, but I will respond with it later. I do appreciate you checking your system. Thanks again.
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, and it looks like you've gotten many replies.

In terms of the NVIDIA HD Audio, the Loudness and Equalization tab is present, and I'm able to change settings in Windows.

Since you have Intel HD Audio, it will depend on if Intel has drivers and software to use for that, only if Windows doesn't automatically use the generic software for Loudness and Equalization settings, which I've checked, and all of my systems have it, "Both Realtek HD Audio and NVIDIA HD Audio"

Also, in order for it to work, the Intel HD Audio will need to be set as your default audio device. I notice that when a device is inactive, the options are not there. Also as others have said, the hardware must also have the feature for it to work.

    Hope you've found a solution
