    Intel(R) 82579V drivers


    HiI've been having a connection problem this week, when I startup PC big red X on network symbol than if I restart all is good. Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection PROBLEM: Unable to start the network adapter. (in event viewer) windows tells me I have the best ones. I found theses on the net from Intel but it says PHY at the end of them.. Can I use these ?

    Miniport Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection, {a1adbff7-a355-4908-a59b-6e69f9676bc0}, had event Fatal error: The miniport has failed a power transition to operational powerThanks for any help or info you can share

    Welcome to the forum.

    Yes, you can use the drivers from Intel. PHY means Physical Layer device. That is the ethernet controller you need the driver for.
    I have the same controller and that is the driver I use.

    I have had issues from time to time with the Ethernet drivers and couldn't install them. The issue i found, wasn't related to the PHY itself but the RAM. I took out the modules and cleaned them thoroughly with cotton sticks and ethanol and reinstalled them. The issue related to the PHY disappeared and also the issue with sudden turn off, which i thought was a thermal issue but it was just a bad RAM connection.

    I hope this helps somebody out there..
