Connect it to your other Windows 10 PC . Can you get it to show in it - Windows Disk Management?

If not, then we will try using a Live Linux . Have you read my posts on using Live Linux?

OK, It is almost bedtime for me. So I shall leave the instructions and go to sleep. Follow my post #8 here https://www.sevenforums.com/hardware...ml#post2936753 That in turn take you to my thread https://www.sevenforums.com/software...-computer.html on how to use Lucid Puppy.

I shall return after another 10 hours.

Ok so after some very long loading times and a few (not responding)'s everything seems to be working.

My only worry is the error that I got when plugged into the surface pro. It has been 10-15 minutes now without one.

The only action I've made was changing the Read Only settings from my 2nd post.
Besides going from the surface pro and back plus the 5-6 tries I'm not sure what fixed it.

Still a little skeptical but I just cannot thank anyone enough for taking their time to try and help.

    A special thanks to:
    Jumanji
    Berton
    SimRick
*let me know if I can support back in anyway

OK Good . Before it is too late copy all your important data to another external drive. Your drive may be deteriorating hour by hour, minute by minute to its last resting place.

( Looks like once jumanji entered things fell into place. :). Hope it happens everytime and I will have no work :))

FWIW, Minitool Power Data Recovery is the bomb. I "accidentally" reformatted a data drive that hadn't been backed up for a while, and it was able to recover 95% of what had been on the drive before reformatting same. Amazing, and definitely worth paying for if you ever get stuck with a data recovery need again.

I have used Parted Magic 2015.08.12 to solve a problem very much the same.
