Disk Management Is Seriously Misreading My Storage

    You can tell it is set up properly for TRIM if it says Solid State Drive here...

    Cool Ix!! Just did it. Thanks for pointing that out. I've never had SSD's before so I'm having to learn this stuff as I go.

    Glad you fixed it. I'd guess Ccleaner would have deleted it - see my first post.

    Don't forget to run chkdsk anyway.

    dalchina I couldn't get the chkdsk to run. It started to because it showed the window that said the chkdsk would run in 8 seconds or something like that but then instead of running the check it just booted up and I got the start screen like a normal start. Tried several times with the same results. Don't know the reason why.

    But then I tried running the chkdsk without the /F (to fix) at the end and it quickly ran a check and said the disk was OK, but at that time the C: Drive was still showing only 2% free.

    BTW, I tried CCleaner and all the settings were in place to remove temporary files but it didn't remove that particular file for some reason.

    Anyway thanks for your help dal.
