I Have 2 Recovery Partitions on MY SSD & 2 Basic 100% Free

My SSD does not look like it is correctly partitioned. I did not add any partitions so I guess it came like this. I just bought it a couple of months ago. There is a Basic Partition 260MB, 100% Free, a Basic Partition 980MB, 100% Free, 2 Recovery Partitions 11.20Gb Each with 1.35Gb Free each & the Windows (C:} Partition 941.43GB, 746.65GB Free. Why would I have 2 separate Recovery Partitions? What are the 2 partitions for that have 100% free space on them? Could someone please help me with this? I will attach a pic of the disk management.

Hi, your attachment didn't work. The best way to attach a screenshot is to use the little icon above your post to the left of the video icon 'Insert Image'

I would expect you would probably have a largish manufacturer's recovery partition, and the normal UEFI Win 10 layout is

    - there will also be a 16Mb System partition which Disk Management does not show.

After an upgrade or an in-place upgrade repair install, if there is unallocated space on the system disk, a further recovery partition may be created.

When you say you bought your SSD, do you mean you bought that separately, maybe second hand, or did it actually come with the laptop when you bought that?

Naturally anyone can create extra data partitions on a drive if there's room. Two large recovery partitions sounds wrong.

What is the history of the laptop? What OS was originally installed?

It sounds like it's second hand and someone has attempted to install Win 10 perhaps as a dual boot, or perhaps as a clean install without cleaning up existing partitions.

    A picture will help greatly.

Thank you for your reply. I placed my pic in my thread that way because I could make it bigger. I will insert per the instructions. Please let me know if you can read this new one. Thank you.

C: Looks ok to me from the graphic... I'd have expected 100Mb for your first, and 450Mb for your 3rd. The first 3 are all part of Windows and there will be a 16Mb partition as well. The last is your manufacturer's recovery partition... if you never wish to make use of that e.g. to sell your PC on, you can delete it.

However, there seems to be a mismatch between the list and the graphic, where the large recovery partition is shown twice. once with no file system.

You might want to take a look with a 3rd party partition manager e.g. Minitool
