TV2, yes my MB mfgr had a new update last year for the USB controller and I installed it........but no change.

Now in the next day I'll follow your suggestion and delete all those entrees NOT USB 3.0 but none now say 2.0 definitely.

    Many thanks for the help.

Another option would be a USB print server. Then you can put it on the network and everyone can/could print to it.

It's a box you connect to your LAN , you connect your USB printer to the box and everyone prints to the box which then sends the job to your USB Printer...

For example... TP-Link TL-PS110U USB to Ethernet Print Server - Ebuyer

If you go USB print server...just make sure you get one that is USB 2.0 so your printer will work. Such as this one:

    https://www.amazon.com/IOGEAR-1-Port.../dp/B000FW60FW

Let us know what you decide to do.

Many thanks! that's a good one but my second choice due to the rather remote location of printers from ethernet connection and my computer. But it definitely is an option for me once I've tried the more convenient option of a dedicated usb card in my computer.

    Tried USB 2.0 card

Well, my saga goes on. I've purchased an adapter card and connected it to the USB 2.0 headers on my ASUS MB but still no signal to the printer............."printer is in error state". So I've sent for a PCI connected card to plug into my MB for USB 2.0 and I'll report in a couple of days how that went. (It's discouraging to contemplate throwing out a perfectly good label printer because of some glitch in windows 10) That's what I think is the problem, something now in the latest update of Win 10 that has interfered with backward compatibility of USB 3.0. I've read in other posts where a man had trouble with a brand new Brother label printer for the same USB reason.....but he blamed the printer model age as being too old for latest USB specs.

Skimmed and wasn't certain: have you checked for BIOS update for your board?

    BIOS is current

Thanks for the thought. The BIOS is current in my MB but I found a new chipset driver set and just installed it. No fast change however. Maybe I've got to reinstall the printer once again? Also, MS just updated Win 10 again a moment ago.......those updates scare me......disappearing apps, unexplained changes, etc.

Fix Samsung ML2510 Printer USB 2.0 on Windows 10 USB 3.0 NOT campatibe

I got the same problem after I restored and updated Windows 10, my Samsung ML2510 printer could not print from my Laptop saying USB2.0 device is not supported on USB3.0 port. I tried Samsung site to get a new driver. But, Samsung has sold the printer business to HP on Nov. 1st 2017. So, I simply downloaded a driver (for Windows 8 64 bits) from HP at
Support Search Results | HP® Customer Support

Ran the SPL.exe to extract the driver (10 files) into a folder. Ran the Setup.exe from the extracted folder and it fixed the problem.
