Display Phones attached to PC via USB

Can not attach any phones to the PC via USB. I tried a Samsung, Android, and a OnePlus and neither worked.
Found this during my such to solve the problem in the computer:
    MTP
    Device type: Portable Devices
    Manufacturer (Standard MTP-compliant devices)
Location: on Samsung Mobile USB Composite Device
    Device status
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged.
    Code 19

What changes to the registry are necessary to make these work again?

    Windows 10 Pro
    Version 22H2 Installed 1/24/2024
    OS Build 19045.4170

If you made a restore point for the system then you should be able to use the restore point and go back to state it was in before the problem occurs. Always make a restore point, and only delete it when you need to.

There would be no reason to go into the registry unless you was making changes involving it in the first place. Again you could also restore the registry from a backup ( if a backup was made ).

    What was the original problem?

When you insert a device you would literally have to give permission within the device itself. This should be the first thing done.
When you get a device ( in case it cracks and you could get your data off some way.

Further all Phone/Tablets all should have developers mode on and USB debugging on.

Usually depending on the device you would have a set of drivers pre-installed. Otherwise it would install automatically if the option is there. In fact you should see the device in your list of other devices with an explanation mark. However in most cases you do not need to download or install any drivers.

This depends on windows installations as many devices can come up as "Camera" or "Mic".

Thank you for the reply. There was a starting problem with my desktop and I had it serviced. After much looking it was determined that FAST BOOT was the issue and it was turned off.
Before this problem, I was having a problem with MTR with my OnePlus phones and only could use PPT. My Sampson phones worked fine and I could do both HRT and PPT.
After this FAST BOOT change, I could no longer get the Samsung phones, via USB to be recognized for either a File Transfer or PTP, but the OnePlus still would only work in PTP.
The problem is that I download most things to the PC and then via the PC, move files that I need to my phones which lately have been Audiobooks.
In my search, I found that reference to a Registry issue problem. I do backups every month, but afraid that using a backup may create the same problems I had before they were fixed.
If you or someone else knows what to do to fix my issue in the Registry or some other place I am willing to try it
