Randomly losing sound until i reset my amp

First i am an experienced user, i work as IT and have over 17 years of experience with computers. So i already tried the usual solutions.

My problem is that my computer randomly loses all sound. The only way to fix it is to power off my amp then power it back on. It happens totally randomly when the computer is idle and not playing any audio. Sometimes it run fine for 1 week but usually i lose the sound multiple time every day.

If there is sound outputting from the speakers, i will never have this problem, so it looks like the sound is lost when the computer is idle, maybe some kind of handshake issue ? I had a similar problem in the past with video (hdmi handshake issue) and the fix was to force EDID and use some sort of app that always keeps the hdmi connection online

    Current setup:
    Windows 10 pro
    i7-6950x
MSI X99A carbon + onboard audio
2x SVS Ultra Bookshelf Speakers + PSB SubSeries 125
Amp = SMSL Q5 Pro (using optical)

It would help if you listed the 'usual solutions' you've tried. At the risk of suggesting something you've already looked at, in Device Manager, look at the properties for all devices involved. If they have a power management tab make sure to untick 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'.

Check and see if your onboard audio has like a power saving on its optical port that won't wake up after being idle for awhile

Have you tried updating drivers for the onboard sound? There may be issues with the current drivers you are using. Are you sure the amp itself isnt going into some sort of powersave?
