Thank you. I found something of interest on the last line in the Release Notes below: 10.1.4 driver revision is for HECI device ONLY

I believe the Z77 Chipset is from the Intel "7" Series Chipset Family; But what is an HECI device?

    My reply to post #310:

I am not sure what happened because my memory is actually becoming faulty...
I remember I plugged something that I should not have, into USB(2.0) 1/2 on the back panel.
After that, the problems began. I noticed a continuing *warning sign in Device Manager (viewed in 'Devices by Type' mode)\Universal Serial Bus Controllers\ Intel 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E26. Subsequently, error messages about the state of the device indicated "damaged".

As stated, my keyboard and mouse, both plugged in to separate USB (2.0) ports, do not work in Safe Mode; my "number" key pad is also not functioning even during 'normal' operation of Windows 10x64 -1903. I have ALL USB ports Enabled in the UEFI, with "Legacy USB 2.0" set to "Auto" mode on my ASUS P8Z77-V LK motherboard.
I had used the Intel Chipset software v.1.01.17 (with W10x64 support) offered by ASUS website as the Chipset software.
As yet, I have *not tried the Intel Server Chipset Driver for Windows v.10.1.18121.8164 offered in post #308 of this Thread. (I don't know what HECI is and the software is for HECI only ?)
    thanks...

    Hi,
@BigFatBoy, while it is possible to damage USB ports they'd then stop working altogether. Have these ports ever worked correctly in "Safe Mode" ?
It sounds as if Windows 10 does not have native drivers for them when ran in "Safe Mode".
No chipset drivers are going to change that. I'd stick with what Asus offers for your machine.
You could check if your numeric key pad is working correctly on another machine perhaps ?

    Cheers,
