Perhaps the rationale here is 10.1.17.0? That's how I understood it anyway?

Nope, it's a screw up by intel, look at the supported chipsets and cpu generations closely.

By the way my ASUS OEM chipset install is 0.1.18019.8144 WHQL

Mine's registered as 10.1.17765.8094 in there.

(I checked for any newer Intel driver's releases here these days: Downloads for Intel(R) Z170 Chipset)

Dell finally releasing updated drivers that support Windows 10 May Update (1903).

They released them early in late July but since then they have update all drivers to DCH too.

I think it's safe to assume Windows 10 19H2 will not be a big update thus drivers current drivers should not be affected until at least Windows 10 20H1.

You can also use the intel update assistant utility which scans your system and updates as necessary but it isn't foolproof.

Yeah i ran the Intel Driver & Support assistant on my Asus G11CD-K Desktop, and stated all my software was up to date, so guess maybe i don't need newer chipset drivers as far as i know lol

So far nothing on Asus Site

*Note On Asus Site this model only designated as G11CD, but in Bios and AegisIII software shows Asus G11CD-K for model**

INTEL CHIPSET Z77 - Help Wanted....

    my apologies for the intrusion;
Based on the 28 page discussion, perhaps I could slide in for a lesson, as dementia has started to set in....

Using an old ASUS p8z77-V LK motherboard, I seem to have physically damaged one of two "Intel 7 series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller" - 1E26, on the PCI Express Root Complex.

My punishment now is an inability to take the PC into Safe Mode, as my USB keyboard and USB mouse input devices will *no longer function in Safe Mode. In addition, some of the UEFI's Recovery processes are not accessible based on the loss of function of the two USB input devices.
I also played with Legacy USB settings in the UEFI, but found no results.

    My Questions:
    1) Can I replace the Intel Z-77 chipset from the motherboard since I believe it manages the PCI Express Root Complex ??? If so, where would I need to go to find one... ?
This level of 'PC-ing' is beyond any experience I have. The PC is working in normal mode, but the USB Enhanced Host Controller is/has been "removed" via the Device Manager.
    2) Any suggestions, fixes, or information on the what and how of a repair will be appreciated.
    thank you.

    Hi,

Physically damaged ? How so ? That chip either works or does not work. It seems to work from what I can from your posting.
    So, what happened ?

    Cheers,
