I am not going to touch anything, driver related on my insider builds. Everything works flawlessly regarding Intel chipsets and graphics. Using Windows default drivers.

I have not manually installed any drivers since the clean installation, and everything has been working fine.

I have never run Intel SetupChipset, and there are no question marks and exclamation marks in my Device Manager.

Does this new driver (10.1.1.42) support older Intel chipsets, like the Intel X58 (Socket LGA 1366)?
I have an older computer with this chipset in it, and it's still running 10.0.27 (from 2015).

Reason why i am asking, is that if i google 10.0.27, the top result takes me to this newer (10.1.1.42) driver.

At the bottom of this page there is a section that say "This product is is valid for the product(s) listed below)

Download IntelĀ® Chipset Device Software (INF Update Utility)

I don't see the X58 chipset listed, to me it looks like the 97 series upward. It may be better to stick with your motherboard provided one but I'm not certain, sorry...

I downloaded and installed version 10.1.1.42 but its still showing .38.
If you go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/INTEL/InfInst it should show the correct installed driver.

I also installed version 10.1.1.42 and device manager still shows older chipset numbers, no idea why or exactly is right, regedit or device manager...

"Run this easy to use Intel® Driver Update Utility"

Has anyone had this utility actually work with a non Intel manufactured boards... that is boards manufactured by anyone else outside of Intel. I ask because I've never been able to get this utility to work with any of my Gigabyte motherboards (X58, Z87, Z170). In fact I just ran it on my Gigabyte Z170X Gaming GT board and got this...

I'm just curios if this utility actually works

It never works for me on an intel board let alone a non intel board.

It always tells me there are updates and most of them turn out to be the same version or older ones than I'm running.
