    windows or android

Is windows 10 OS phone at least decent?
I need to access Google drive for my wife who has a Chromebook as she is not OK digitally.
I know android is more stable and secure but I like Windows 10 like it is on my desktop with files and folders.

I have used Android for years, and I like Windows 10 Mobile on my Lumia 1520 much more.

You might give the Microsoft Emulator for Windows 10 Mobile below a play with to see how you like it first.

First, I have trusted your judgement for years.
Thank you for the link to the emulator.
In reading about the Windows phone it seems as though I could access the Google drive and have much more flexibility moving apps and docs to the SD card. Google makes it nearly impossible.
If it is true that I can do the last two I am ready to buy Windows. Please simply verify those two.
    I cannot thank you enough.

I'm not sure about Google Drive, but you can do move apps and docs to the SD card.

There is a mobile Google app and I hope it can be downloaded and installed in to the Windows phone. I will check before buying.
That news to me about the SD card is positively significant. Thanks again sir.

You can move, copy, and view files from the Phone and SD card from within Windows 10 while the phone is connected to the PC.

You can also select to save apps and other items to the SD card on the phone.

The phone also has modern File Explorer to help with files.

The one thing I would add to this conversation is...if your wife has an outlook email account, then anything she saves and adds to a Windows 10 mobile phone i.e. calendar appointments, phone numbers, pics, and other items will automatically sync to her windows 10 desktop.

And in my humble opinion, the Windows Mobile phones sound like "real" phones compared to the other phones on the market. I have an android for work...which I hate...and I have an IPhone for the house phone as it works in my remote location without any extra equipment. Having using all three, I still like the Windows 10 Mobile better than the other ones. I hoe this helps.

She has one email account via Comcast the ISP. I have 4 one being the Comcast ISP
She has a Chromebook and Samsung Galaxy S5. I have a set up so that she(pc illiterate) does nothing but the obvious. No maintenance or configuring. She is happy with the less to do and has Googles protection with the Chromebook.
I then use the Chrome browser at my Win 10 desktop so I can access our Google Drive, her phone and my Galaxy. All is synchronized.
If I trade my Galaxy in for a Windows phone I was hoping I could install the Google Drive app and sync that.
So ultimately I have Win 10 on both desktop and Win 10 phone, she has the Chromebook and the Galaxy phone. The hope is that Windows phones accept the Google drive app and I can do as I do from desktop which is access google drive and sync it.
Either someone here can tell me or I will have to do to the MS store and see for myself. :)

Well, I just checked the store from my phone....and nothing showed up for Google drive app. It wanted to point me to a driving app and probably not the one you are referring too. Since I don't use Google drives...I have no way of finding out if I can do this from my windows phone. But as Brink said earlier, you can connect the windows phone to the computer and copy anything you want to it.

As for installing apps to the SD card, some will and others won't. For instance WhatsApp will not let you install it to an SD card.
