Well that is one piece of info thanks.
When you right click on speaker, click on recording device, does your MIC show?
If a default shows, click on default once, click on properties. On the general tab how does it show your ports?

Interest, it doesn't show as a device and port seems to be headphones.
Maybe one of the members following this thread can comment. Fireberd had a laptop with single port, wonder how his show.
Have you gone to conexant site to see if there is software that goes along with driver. There has to be a way to configure port.
What doe you see on Recording tab when you press "Configure"?
What do you see when you click on "Properties" beside Conexant SmartAudio HD although I'm questioning Smart.
Please also click on levels tab and ensure nothing muted.
I have lots of mic's but I don't have a computer mic, so I can't check what my Toshiba would show. But "combo jacks" that auto detect have been around for several years. I recall hearing about them on some HP's and Dell's.
I know my combo jack works for headset, as I use it as a Karoke player and feed the headset output to my recording studio equipment when I record Karaoke singers. I use a cable with a standard TRS plug and get stereo.
