    to see if it has been deleted, I need to turn off pc and then on. ill be back

    the same error message still appears. and typing RD/S/Q H:\Recycle.bin under admin says specified file cannot be found

    How about disabling it for that drive(s) restart and enable it again ?

    That's not the correct command. It should be this below instead for the "H" drive.

    RD /S /Q H:\$Recycle.bin

    i re pasted that line in admin mode, still says cannot find the specified file. interesting.

    That would indicate that the $RECYCLE.BIN folder has already been deleted on H: since it can't find it.

    As a test, go ahead and do the same for your C: drive using the command below in case there may still be a corrupted reference for H: there as well. When finished, restart the computer to see if that stops the message from the 1st post.

    RD /S /Q C:\$RECYCLE.BIN
