    Nexus 5X driver problem

    Hi,

Today when I connected my Nexus 5X to my PC I couldn't transfer files anymore (I checked on the phone to be selected the file transfer option). So I get the folowing error when I try to install via Device Manager:

So any solutions ? Windows refresh or reset is excluded.

    Welcome to the TenForums @EurofighterTy

Shut Windows down completely by holding the shift key down and clicking Shutdown.

    Test

Next check Windows Update History and see if any drivers were update over the last week, likely in last 24 hours. Also see if any updates are failing.

Then do a system restore. This just takes your registry back to a certain date. You lose any programs installed between the date you choose and now.

Test. If this works tells Windows to stop updating Drivers.

    Windows + R keys
    Enter Sysdm.cpl
    Click on Hardware tab
    Click on Device Installation Settings
    Click on No
A menu appears (first time) click Never Install driver software.
You may get a warning. Click the option that says I’ll take care of it (not exact words)

Any chance, did you phone do an update - check to see if software was updated on it.
