    Thank you!

Hi. I think I'm going to make you happy!

I experienced the same issue, and worked until I found a solution!

Go into the printer's Properties, then the Advanced tab, and turn OFF the option "Enable advanced printing features" and save the change.

Be sure your print queue is empty of any previous jobs and then go ahead and test it.

FYI, I did quick research and apparently there are no "advanced features" disabled by this change that a routine printer user would possibly care about.

Let us know if it works! Best/jim
Out of the blue, this happened to me. Your suggestion fixed it.

I spent hours trying to figure this out. I then did a google search and found your forum and thread. My home printer, a Cannon was not printing words only graphics. I applied your suggestion and it worked perfectly. Thanks

Just out of curiosity... Which drivers do you have for your printer? If you let Windows Update manually find drivers, then this could explain your issues. Every build might try to "update" the drivers only to make things worse. Have you tried downloading the latest official (OEM) drivers from Epson (or whoever is the manufacturer)? I frequently see on the manufacturer's site that "No Windows 10 drivers are available. Your printer should be detected automatically" or similar. No thanks, I prefer official drivers to avoid incompatibilities and to enable all the printer's features, so I change the OS to Windows 8 or 7 to find drivers. Once installed the printer prints at its best and supports all kinds of papers. You can also tweak the quality as you please. So if you have Microsoft drivers try installing OEM drivers. It will make a huge difference and most likely your compatibility issue will be gone forever. Also prefer OEM drivers with any other devices, avoid Microsoft drivers.

The xp solution does not work for win10

The XP solution to disable advanced feature does not work for Win10 users, because that feature does not exist. Any alternative solutions for Win10 users?

Running on Windows 10 Home (19043.1083)

Everything was fine until March of this year (2021). I currently have Microsoft's "Print to PDF", NitroPDF and PDFill.

Printing directly to the printer, printing to Nitro or printing to PDFill... graphics print. Text does not.
Microsoft's Print to PDF DOES work, but produces larger files than Nitro or PDFill did.

Any existing pdf files (whether produced locally by Microsoft Print to PDF or from outside sources do print just fine on my inkjet printer. So clearly, to me at least, the issue is not the basic print driver.

Anyway upon reading this post, I went looking for the "Advanced features" option. PDFill presented that option. Nitro did not.... PDFill is now producing pdf files correctly. Nitro continues with the problem of not being able to produce text.

I also have used PDF Architect and Bullzip PDF. Of course nothing is better than the official Adobe PDF printer, if you have Adobe Acrobat Pro. In Adobe Acrobat Pro, or other free alternative you can even compress the file to produce a smaller version but you lose some quality.

Unable to print text, only links print.

Tried to uncheck Enable advanced printing features, but that choice is greyed out and I cannot uncheck it.
