Safely Remove notification message not appearing

I found out lately when I use the Safely Remove , I do not get the notification that the device can be removed. I had 'Show app notification' set to on, but still it does not appear. Do anyone have the same problem or know a solution to it? I would like to get notified the device is safe to remove.

    Thanks a lot!!

P.S I am using bitdefender, not sure if it will affect notification

In File Explorer and right-click of the drive should be a choice for Eject, will that work?

Well, only for flash drive, for portable harddisk, eject is grey out.

I have 3 External USB drives connected and also do not have the Eject in File Explorer but do have it in the Notification Area. Haven't checked deeply but maybe it's something with having a static drive letter assigned?

I believe the cause for the balloon not showing for some is the definition updates for Windows 8, 10 defender, & Windows Microsoft Security Essentials for windows 7 sp1. On my windows 7 sp1, I have always show all icons and notification on the taskbar checked.

Guys, firstly thanks a lot! After spending few days time searching everywhere and trying every method, the problem is still there. However I found a solution, just create a new user account and in that new account, the notification message appeared when i eject my harddisk now. So I deleted away the old account, guess some thing is corrupted in that user account.
