    Viewsonic Driver

    Dear all,

I'm trying to install the driver for a Viewsonic VX3209-2K monitor:
    VX3209-2K 32" QHD LCD monitor - LED Display - Products - ViewSonic

However, the installations was failed. I have tried these drivers with compatibility settings, but none of them works.

Standard Monitor Driver Signed Windows 7 x64
Standard Monitor Driver Signed Windows 8 x64

Standard Monitor Driver Signed Windows 10 x64

Standard Monitor Driver Unsigned Windows x64

It would be great if someone could lend a helping hand, thank you.

    Best regards,
    Jessica

Windows provides drivers for your Viewsonic monitor, it does not require separate driver installation.
Where do you plug your monitor into? Do you use the onboard Blue VGA or White DVI port on the back of the computer?
Or do you have a separate Video card lower in the case, With VGA, DVI or HDMI? Have you installed the drivers for your Video card?

    Hi Spunk,

    Thank you for your reply.

Currently, I'm using Intel's motherboard DH77EB and Intel's core i5 3470 @ 3.2Ghz. I've contacted Intel and they said that both supports 2K resolution. However, the maximum resolution I can get is only 1920 x 1080px. I have tried to update the driver via windows update, it shows that I'm already using the latest driver.

Intel asked me to install the driver from Viewsonic. Unfortunately, none of the driver listed above work for me.

I'm using HDMI port on the DH77EB, I don't have any separate graphic card.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Jessica

You would download any drivers from the Intel Drivers site for your model:
Download the HD Graphics driver for Windows 8.1, choose your version of Windows, (ie)32bit or 64 bit Download Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics Driver for Windows 8.1* Download then Extract the driver file and save it to your Download location. Open the file find Setup.exe., Right click it and choose Properties/Compatibility, make it compatible with Windows 8.1, Run As Administrator.

From what I've found to date, the "driver" you get from your monitor vendor doesn't install a h/w device driver. It installs a color profile for your monitor. I looked at a couple of drivers you listed. Look like they install a (.PAL) file (color palette). I've seen other monitor "drivers" install an .ICC file. (International Color Consortium)

If you already like the color on your monitor you don't really need a color file. Even if you can't find one, your monitor will run just fine without. Do the manual adjustments without it

    Hi Spunk,

    Thank you for your reply.

I've downloaded and installed the driver as per instructed. However, I'm still unable to set the 2K resolution.

    Hi ComputerGeek,

    Thank you for your reply.

The color works great for the monitor. The main problem is the resolution. In that case, may I know how to make manual adjustments to have 2k resolutions?

Currently, the maximum I can get is only 1920x1080px.

    Thank you.

    So
    • Your color is great. There's no value finding the Viewsonic driver then.
    • I think it's all about the graphics card and driver as Spunk has been looking for
    • Are you running latest BIOS? I'd also reinstall the latest chipset drivers
    • The Intel message "Bandwidth Exceeded" makes me wonder if the board really supports higher resolution you want
    • If it appears the Intel onboard can't do the job, I'd get and try an add-on card. Are you close to a brick and mortar computer store? Ask for an add-on card that supports what you need. And check on their return policy, if there are still issues.

I have to ask, what type of HDMI cable are you using and what HDMI standard does it support. HDMI cables are not created equally and when I see Bandwidth Exceeded I start to wonder. The issue gets worst as the cable length increases.

    Hi,
The 'driver' as such usually contains an *.INF file and a colour profile *.ICM. Windows 10 updates did that for my monitor, also you can get it from the manufacturer. It tells Windows capabilities like resolutions so it may help.

Not entirely necessary with modern monitors as the information is sent from the monitor itself.
To see whether this has been installed:
Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings > Colour settings > Colour Management > Devices Tab. If your monitor's ICM profile is in there then the 'driver' as such is installed, no worries.

DisplayPort connection maybe better. There maybe some limitation on the HDMI port.

You will have to look up that MOBO, CPU/iGPU/H77 chipset and indeed the HDMI and DisplayPort specs.

Intel HD Graphics Driver is here, make sure it's the right one, Intel's downloads are very confusing.
    Download Intel(R) Graphics Driver for Windows(R) 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.33]-
