Windows 10: LaserJet 4100 network printer gone after installing it.
LaserJet 4100 network printer gone after installing it.
I used Windows 10's printer driver installation for my HP LaserJet 4100DTN. I had to use the My printer is a little older option.
Did that day before yesterday, I just went to print something now, no LaserJet 4100 Series PS Class shown. So I went to install it again. "can't find the file"
So I tried again, and it's installed again. Will it stick around or will Windows decide I really don't need that printer, again? Another day, another buggy thing with 10.
Oddly enough, with this clean install I had to make it go and look on the network for the Canon MG550. When I first installed that one, 10 automatically found it, installed and made it the default printer without asking, and after I'd changed the settings to not have it constantly changing the default printer.
