Why my Logitech side buttons don't work since Win10 anniversary update

I have a USB Logitech Performance MX mouse and a Microsoft keyboard, which worked perfectly together until the Windows anniversary update on Sept 6/2016.
Since then I can't even access my SetPoint Settings as when I click on it it closes the window. In device manager it seems as if Microsoft has taken over on account of the MS keyboard and does not recognize my Logitech mouse.
It shows it as a HID compliant mouse.
My Logitech has a USB key plugged in but in device manager it is the HID mouse which shows as on the USB and my Logitech is at location 1 wherever that is. The SetPoint settings program is 6.67.83. Have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling but no go. Does anyone have a solution ?
    Logitech were not much help.

    Hi @999Titi , welcome to tenforums! :)

If you have an MX Master Series Mouse, you'll need to download Logitech Options for it.
