    Bluetooth isn't working

This problem has come up before but it somehow went away by itself, but now it has come back and is more annoying than ever. So I have a bluetooth mouse that I use and want to keep but the problem is that bluetooth is removed from the settings and also hidden in device manager. In the properties of the bluetooth components it says "Currently this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (code 43). I know that I have bluetooth, it came with the laptop. When I was using the mouse it disconnected randomly so I went inside settings and it said "driver error" and then the bluetooth setting disappeared. I'm so frustrated because I've tried so many things such as going into services enabling automatic for the bluetooth support service uninstalling the bluetooth and resetting my computer which worked for a bit and then the problem came back.

here are my specs and the pictures of the problem.

Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated and I also just joined the forum.

I think it's related to the USB problem somehow because I have the "unknown usb device (device descriptor failed)" thing in device manager as well.

The Bluetooth function on my Notebooks are on the Wireless adapter, turn Wi-Fi off and Bluetooth is off. It may be possible for the Bluetooth to fail by itself.

But then what do I do to enable it again?

Elrond908 you said you reset your device, it worked for a while and then stopped. Is it possible that Windows is installing the correct driver (older driver) initially and then as time progresses the driver gets updated resulting in failure?

Before trying create a restore point to allow you to fully backup of changes.

As a test you could tell Windows to stop updating drivers, (Control Panel, System, advance system settings, Hardware Tab, Device Installation Settings, No let me choose, Never install driver.....) then go through device manager, uninstall device and remove software.

Having already found the appropriate driver from your vendor site install it and see if it performs. (I have this issue with a wireless card but the whole thing fails).

You mentioned that you had an Unknown device. When I get this I follow this process. This very likely is the same process you followed, if so just ignore me.

To identify unknown device in Device manager, right click on device, click on “Properties”, click on Details Tab. Change "Property" line to Hardware ids. Right click on top id, copy, head to google, paste.

Okay I'm very sorry for the late reply, I tried to install drivers but on the Intel download center page there is only bluetooth software and Intel wireless Pro/set drivers for my wireless card (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC7260) I'm not sure which to download and install because I have drivers for both.

Also on the USB issue it's saying "USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE" and on the things I've read on it they have USB's and other things plugged in whereas I have nothing, I think it might be the thing affecting my Bluetooth for some reason because before this USB thing popped up I wasn't having issues. I've tried uninstalling it and all the other Universal Serial Bus Controllers but it just installs it again once I reboot.

First on the Intel AC7260. I would recommend that you head to the Lenovo site and get the appropriate drivers for your Wireless / Bluetooth card. They may not have 10 drivers, I think Windows 8.1 will work just fine.

I have this card in a very old laptop, designed for XP, and the most recent drivers cause me to lose connection to Internet. After each major upgrade I revert back to the Feb 2014 version. V17.0.0.0 and connectivity, with great speed, is restored. I don't use or load bluetooth on this device.

If you want to use the latest Intel please head back to site. (I recommend starting with Lenovo.) There is a utility to identify and update drivers found here. Actually there appears to be a link to utility on most pages.

    Download Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows(R) 10

It may fail with your USB descriptor issue.

From drilling down, I clicked on manually identify, it appears you need to first install the driver package and then the bluetooth software. I myself don't use Proset software, I just use the built in Windows features to control wireless.

On the hardware failure. It may be impacting, and it could truly be a failure. I guess I was keying on your statement that it worked after a reset. I would still try a reset, with data safely backed up, like you did and tell Windows to leave drivers as is. This way you can confirm that the hardware failure is a real failure and not something being driven from a driver conflict, if this makes any sense.

Alright this is weird the bluetooth is back but the bad thing is it cuts out however once I press the windows button it comes back on sometimes and sometimes I just have to reinstall the mouse driver software, then other times the actual bluetooth goes away. This might seem very weird and might not make sense but this is what is happening right now. I think I should still try to install the drivers?

Did all this weirdness start after you reset / restored?

You might consider abandoning the internal Bluetooth on your laptop and purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle. I don't know how much they cost in the Australia but here in the states they are very inexpensive. Something like this: Wavlink USB Bluetooth V4.0 3.0 Wireless Mini Adapter Dongle for PC Win 7 8-Newegg.com
