It seems that I can't enable Over Provisioning on my Samsung 500GB EVO.
I got W10 x64 along with Ubuntu installed. I shrinked 50GB (10%of the SSD) from the partition and I still can't get this thing enabled.
Over provisioning just makes unallocated space, so you're set any how.
But I suspect it's because of Ubuntu using ext.3 or ext.4 file system and Magician is working inside of Windows with NTFS.

It seems that it should be specifically at the end of the space
On an SSD it doesn't matter physically.
Actually the SSDs controller lies to the OS as to where data is stored, as there is no " spinning disk", only NAND chips organized in cells & blocks all with the exact seek time.

Hello,
I just converted my W10 disk/partitions to support UEFI (using mbr2gpt which convert an MBR disk to a GPT one)
How to convert MBR to GPT drive to switch BIOS to UEFI on Windows 10 | Windows Central
Now samsung magician shows me...
I left 50GB of my 500GB Samsung EVO 840 SSD at the end of the memory just for over provisioning. But it seems that they are not seen because they are allocated after my Fedora install.
Any idea on how to work with this?

I did not like Samsung Magician 5.0 so I uninstalled it completely and installed Magician 4.9.7
I like this older version, more "options", easy to work with.
On one page they asked if I want OVER PROVISIONING, I chose "Set OP", it created a 47.69...
I have an older Dell Inspiron 1750 laptop. I replaced its original spinning HDD with a brand new Samsung SSD 850 EVO drive, that was advertised as supporting hardware encryption. So now I'm trying to enable it.
Here's what I did:
