Printer spool not clearing after printing a job using Microsoft Edge.

I am running Windows 10 X64 Version 1607 with all current updates applied on a HP laptop (do not have model number handy).
I recently had to print out several PDF files and after printing the first one with no problem the second PDF file I needed to print would not print. I looked in the print queue and saw the first PDF file was still in the queue with the status of printing. It had finished printing. I tried to cancel it with no success. I then did what used to work, I rebooted my laptop. After the reboot the first PDF file I had just printed, printed again and the second one would not print. When I looked in the print queue after the reboot I saw the same thing, The file that had just printed was still there with a status of printing and the second one was waiting to print.
    I then did the following:
1: In Windows services I stopped the print spooler
2: In Windows Explorer I went to %windir%\System32\spool\PRINTERS and deleted all the files that were there
3: I then restarted the print spooler.
I was then able to print the second PDF file. I had to do these three steps every time I needed to print more than one file.
This seems to be a problem when printing from Microsoft EDGE as I have since downloaded Adobe Reader and have no problems printing more then one document from that app.
Thank you in advance for any and all help.

I did change the Print Spooler Properties as per the instructions in the site above. However it is still not clearing the print spooler after it has finished printing. I did let it sit that way for several hours and the spool file did finally clear. I am not sure how long it took but I believe it was well over an hour.

This is very frustrating as many time I need to print more than one document at a time and having to clear the spool file manually is just not an option.

Does any one from Microsoft look at these posts?

    still happening

This issue is still happening. It takes several minutes for the print spool to clear after the print has finished. An error message comes up in the lower right corner of the screen but it goes away to quickly to capture it. Is there someplace I can look for error messages so I can report what it says?

I'm a Windows 7 user, so I do not know if the following two utilities will help you or not: Clean Print Spooler and Stalled Printer Repair -- I was able to purge and/or delete any current stuck print job just before printing the next pdf or DOC.
