How do I reverse my left and right speaker sound?

I have 2 speakers for left and right. Windows recognizes the speaker on the left as the right speaker. Then recognizes the speaker on the right as the left speaker. I can't reverse it because the wires won't reach. How do I reverse it in Windows?

In Windows you can't although your soundcard driver might let you (mine doesn't).

Easiest would be to cut off the 3.5mm plug and solder the wires on backwards I'd have thought but there are some other suggestions here.. How do I swap audio output of the left and right speakers? - Super User

If your driver supports it it will be in Windows Sound settings.

Sounds like a good excuse to clean and rewire your desk.

Don't cut anything. Extend the cable that is too short: mini audio cable extension cable | eBay

If these are stand alone speakers, why not just physically move them? :)

Have you tried the speaker set on a different computer? Have you tried a headset in the same port to check if left and right are correct?

hehehe, just came around to this thread and I must say that THIS would be the right thing to solve instead of numerous stupid options that nobody really uses

Do you think it would be a problem, if it was physically possible, smartass? In my case, I'd have to reorganise my whole room just to 'physically move them'.

lx07's suggestion is a good one, also get this to make things easier.
